Caleō, a luxurious lounge inspired by legendary social clubs, offers an opulent experience of discovery and indulgence for those who embrace living life to the fullest. Located within the recently opened Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok, Caleō is place to be. The Ritz-Carlton, a globally recognized leader in hospitality, is situated in the heart of One Bangkok, Thailand's largest mixed-use project. The hotel boasts stunning views of Lumpini Park and the city skyline, and its proximity to Sathorn, Silom, and Ploenchit places guests in a prime location.
Inside, the Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok exudes luxury, showcasing remarkable artwork, world-class chefs in its restaurants, and a truly indulgent spa. Event spaces are bathed in natural light, contributing to the hotel's creative and inviting atmosphere. It provides a seriously luxurious experience, seamlessly blending classic Ritz-Carlton service with exceptional Thai hospitality.
My friend and I had always wanted to experience afternoon tea at this fine establishment. We finally made it happen, and I can confidently say that the experience exceeded our expectations.
The Signature Afternoon Tea Set
Caleō is open daily from 9:00 AM until midnight. Afternoon tea is served from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and requires a reservation one day in advance. In the evening, Caleō transforms into a specialty bar, operating from 6:00 PM to midnight.
The Signature Afternoon Tea at Caleō is priced as follows:

THB 2,500++ per person, including a glass of Champagne Billecart-Salmon Brut Réserve
THB 3,000++ per person, including a glass of Champagne Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé
Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted with excellent customer service. Welcome drinks and charming appetizers were promptly served. I particularly enjoyed the fish roe in crispy cones and the refreshing beverage.
For afternoon tea, it's rare to be presented with fresh tea leaves in a box, but at Caleō, we were pleasantly surprised by their extensive tea selection. My friend chose the signature blended tea, the Ritz-Carlton Bangkok Signature, featuring a blend of Bishop Rose, Osmanthus, Magnolia Champaca, and Vanilla. This tea offered a luxurious and calming experience. While she indulged in the full luxurious experience, I opted for something simpler yet equally delightful. I chose the White Peony, with its notes of honey, floral tones, and fresh-cut hay. This tea provided a delicate and soothing flavor. If you're having trouble deciding, the staff will present small samples of each tea for you to smell, allowing you to choose your favorite. Each guest receives a pot of tea or their drink of choice.
Once you've settled in with your drink, the savory delicacies (sandwiches) are brought to the table, followed by scones and preserves. Shortly after, the staff presents the signature tiered tray with a variety of sweet treats, and the experience concludes with a confectionary trolley. These carefully orchestrated sequences are designed to enhance your experience, and I must say, they create a truly blissful atmosphere.
The savory sandwiches offered a delightful range of flavors. My favorites were the salmon, egg, and crab sandwiches. The bread itself was soft and chewy, complementing the fillings perfectly. While the cucumber sandwich wasn't my personal favorite, having a full plate of sandwiches was a wonderful way to begin this luxurious afternoon tea.
Now, for the sweet treats! The signature tiered tray features six delectable options: Chocolate Celebration, Raspberry and Dill, Banoffee Tartlet, Bella, Pear & Tonka, and Citrus Mont Blanc. My personal favorite was the Banoffee Tartlet, while my friend raved about the Bella. What made this afternoon tea even more special for me was the charming drawing I received when making the reservation. These delightful little details truly resonated with the little girl inside me who loves to draw.
You can also clearly see the ingredients in each pastry, which adds a fun and informative element to the experience.
And just when we thought the experience was complete, the staff approached us with a dessert trolley, asking what kind of sweets we wanted to have. Although we were quite full by then, we couldn't resist trying some gourmet chocolates, mini cakes, caramel, nougat, and, of course, delicious macarons. The trolley added a delightful touch to the experience, creating a feeling of a personal mini dessert buffet.
To fully indulge the afternoon tea, I recommend setting aside at least two hours to leisurely enjoy the treats. It was the perfect occasion for my friend and me, as we hadn't seen each other in a long time and had much to catch up on. Catching up over a luxurious afternoon tea like this was exactly the experience and the memories we wanted to create together.
Our time at Caleō, Ritz-Carlton Bangkok, was fantastic, and the afternoon tea was superb. Beyond the food, the interior design and decorations were truly tasteful and beautifully executed. The ceiling lamps, the dark velvet blue accents, and the glass floral decorations created a delicate yet classy atmosphere. The space strikes a perfect balance, neither too feminine nor too masculine, making it ideal for both afternoon tea and its transformation into a bar at night.
And the view—oh, the view! It offers one of the best perspectives of Lumpini Park, Bangkok's largest park.
Before saying goodbye, I took a moment to admire more of the hotel's interior design and noticed the beautiful floral arrangements in the lobby and check-in area. The flower arrangements are simple yet classic, and the red accents perfectly complement the overall luxurious atmosphere. If you appreciate good interior design and are seeking inspiration, this hotel is definitely worth a visit.
In addition to Caleō, the Ritz-Carlton Bangkok features highly recommended French restaurant, Duet By David Toutain, and a popular international dining option, Lily's, both of which I've heard are worth trying.
Lastly, I want to express my gratitude to the staff for taking excellent care of us, especially Khun Aon, who took photos for us and helped me choose my tea. The overall experience wouldn't have been this wonderful without such great people, so kudos to the team at Caleō. I hope to visit again soon.
